Surgical Orthodontics

Surgical orthodontic treatment, also known as orthognathic surgery, may be recommended for individuals with significant jaw or bite discrepancies that cannot be corrected with orthodontics alone. This type of care involves close coordination between an orthodontist and an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to ensure precise planning and timing. With the use of in-office 3D CBCT imaging, we are able to evaluate jaw position and anatomy in greater detail, allowing for more accurate treatment planning. By addressing the underlying jaw alignment, treatment can help improve function such as chewing, speaking, and breathing, while also supporting facial balance and long-term oral health.
